Guest Information

Dress at Kittansett should always be appropriate for the occasion or activity.

The proper attire for men on the golf course or practice range includes slacks or Bermuda length shorts and a collared shirt. For women, suitable attire includes golf skirts, slacks, Bermuda or walking shorts. Sleeveless tops must have collars. Jeans, denim, "cut-offs," running, tennis, gym shorts, and t-shirts are not considered proper attire for either gender. Children are also expected to adhere to proper dress while on Club premises. Hats and caps will be removed at all times while in the clubhouse. While golf dress has been relaxed at many other clubs, The Kittansett Club adheres to its traditional dress policy.

Appropriate shoes must be worn at all times on the course and in the clubhouse. All golfers must wear SPIKE-LESS shoes. If you have questions regarding your dress or shoes, please ask the golf staff or Club Manager for clarification.

Appropriate casual clothing or golf attire is permitted during all meal periods and functions in the clubhouse unless otherwise stated.

Appropriate dress for member guests, both on the course and in the clubhouse, is the responsibility of the hosting member.

      2. Hole #3: The bunker is defined by the outer edge of the railroad ties supporting the cart path and inside edge of the hazard stakes. The lateral water hazard is defined by the red stakes that run from the 3rd teeing ground to the 4th teeing ground. All walking paths located in the bunker and cart paths outside the bunker and supporting structures are obstructions. Relief may be obtained under Rule 24-2. Stones in the bunker surrounding the 3rd green are movable obstructions. If the ball moves, it shall be replaced without penalty. As an additional option for relief from the water hazard a player may use the ball drop area adjacent to the red teeing ground under a penalty of one stroke.

      3. Hole #17: The fence and rock extension to the right behind the 17th green is an immovable obstruction. Relief may be obtained under Rule 24-2 or as an additional option the ball may be dropped in the nearest dropping zone without penalty even if it is nearer to the hole. Drop areas are for fence and rock extension relief on the golf course side of point road only.
